I am pleased to announce that I am running a “YUI Japanese tea ceremony class” in Kamakura.

I have previous experience in running a Japanese cooking class in overseas, and now I am teaching a Japanese tea ceremony class to share my knowledge and experience of the tea ceremony in Japan, Kamakura. Japanese tea ceremony involves countless beautiful and wonderful aspects of the Japanese culture, like Zen philosophy, architecture, ceramics, garden design, cuisine, flower arrangement, calligraphy, incense, sweets, and more…!

Join and experience the great tradition and the mindfulness of the Japanese tea ceremony. 

I can give a lesson in both English and Japanese, so please do not hesitate even if you are still learning Japanese!

The lesson takes place in a traditional Japanese tatami room, where you are welcomed to a calm and comforting nature of the Japanese tea ceremony.

You will learn everything, from the procedure of making a bowl of matcha green tea, to manners behind the action of serving the tea as a host. Also, perhaps most importantly, you will learn to enjoy the matcha tea with seasonal Japanese traditional sweets as a guest at the tea ceremony.
